COMMITTEES

Member involvement helps us reach new heights in our charitable giving. Our committees are an excellent way to get involved and, as an added bonus, a great way to get to know your fellow club members and make new friends. 

There are many roles to fill that meet the needs of those with varying amounts of time to give. 

Below is a brief description of our committees with the names and contact information on right.  Please reach out to any and all committees that you may be interested in assisting. 


WAYS AND MEANS

The Ways & Means Committee supports the mission and programs of the Ponte Vedra Woman’s Club by developing and implementing creative fundraising initiatives. The committee works to secure financial resources that sustain club activities, scholarships, and charitable donations to the our selected Local Charitable Organizations.

Responsibilities:

  • develop and execute an annual fundraising plan in alignment with the club’s goals and budget needs.
  • Organize and oversee fundraising events such as galas, auctions, raffles, and community drives.  
  • Identify and engage potential donors, sponsors, and community partners.
  • Collaborate with other committees to promote fundraising efforts through club communications and social media.
  • Ensure all fundraising activities reflect the club’s values and mission.
  • Maintain accurate records of fundraising outcomes and report results to the Executive Board.
  • Recognize and thank donors and sponsors for fostering ongoing support.
The committee consists of club members who have an interest in fundraising, event planning, marketing, or community outreach. The Committee Chair and Co-Chair coordinate meetings and activities and reports to the Executive Board.  The committee meets monthly, or as needed, to plan events, review progress, and coordinate upcoming initiatives.

MEMBERSHIP

Our membership committee is responsible for welcoming new members and for arranging our very popular social events.  This committee is in need of members to help:

  • Welcome new members
  • Engaging current, and prospective members through email, phone, and cards. 
  • Actively engage in recruiting activities
  • Maintain relationships and interaction with the membership and prospects.
  • Coordinate our annual new members social
  • Coordinate our monthly member socials

PUBLIC RELATIONS

The PR committee is responsible the promotion of our mission, club events and activities of our amazing club.  They are in need of creative individuals to help:

  • Create social media content and event flyers
  • Make personal introduction with local media personnel
  • Write articles and content for social media posts and print media
  • Capture or arrange for photographs at monthly meetings, “FUNdraisers” and socials  
  • Make certain that the media is informed of special events and charity activities

PROGRAMS

Our Programs committee is responsible for the planning, organizing, and implementing monthly general meetings to include the venue, the speakers, and the topics highlighted for discussion. The Programs committee needs help with:

  • Communicate with the venue and make sure all arrangements for the food, beverages and equipment are properly coordinated for each meeting
  • Recruitment of and communication with monthly speakers
  • Member check in at events

CHARITY AND SCHOLARSHIPS

Our Charity and Scholarship committee is responsible for the coordination and communication with the club’s selected charities as well as the solicitation and recommendations of our annual scholarship winners.  The Charity and Scholarship committee also coordinates the Ponte Vedra Woman’s Club bi-annually solicitation of our supported charities. Additionally, the Charity and Scholarship committee coordinates our support for holiday gift giving for students at St. Augustine Youth Service and the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind.  The Charity and Scholarships committee can use your help with:

  • Bi-annually receiving, researching and reviewing the applications to become a supported charity and bringing this information to the board for a vote
  • Maintaining dialogue with our selected charities, currently- Betty Griffin Center, BEAM, Mission House and Port in the Storm
  • Periodically request speakers from our supported charities for our meeting to help membership understand with charity’s mission and the impact of our financial contribution
  • Spearheading the periodic collections of needed item donations for those organization from our members
  • Annually distributing and promoting our scholarship application to local high schools
  • Reviewing scholarship applications and making a recommendation to the board for the award of the scholarships.
  • Coordinating with the scholarship winners to attend our May meeting to receive their award.
  • Coordinating Angel Tree giving lists, collection of items and delivery to St. Augustine Youth Service and the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind

IT SUPPORT

Our IT committee is responsible for the updating and maintenance of our website, electronic document storage and support for our members when they experience technical issues when accessing or using our website. The IT Committee can use your help with:

  • Posting events on our website
  • Generating event invitations and reminders
  • Support for our various committees and their website related needs
  • Membership login and password management 
  • Updating our committee email lists
  • Implementation of document management policy
  • Management of website users
